Through the lens of a dream
I look back to my past and wonder
Just how I made it here
I was alone in a vast and empty wasteland
The rubble of past lives
Strewn about my feet
It cuts to the bone
This feeling
Surrounding
Encompassing me
Now I gaze towards the Sun
To break free from this lie
And though I know my time remaining on this earth is short, I feel myself sinking within the sands of time
I have been shown
Lies, pain, no remorse
So I grasp at the Sun
To incinerate this lie
And though I know my time remaining on this earth is short, the Golden Lion calls my name
I sit in this body, it isn’t mine
Its taken everything that I have just to remain alive
Faced with this mountain I am afraid of, I fall to my knees and cry
Embracing the winds of change
I lift my head to the sky and begin to scream
This Nebulous Razor cut so deep it stole my will to breathe
So now I spread my wings so wide
I leap, I’ll never be seen again
Witness the glorious Phoenix
Painting her skies red
Now that I face my truth
I know that I was under
A spell of survival
A curse I never wanted
Long I have sought
The answers to these questions
Will I be free
Or will I be safe?
Can I show this world exactly who I am?
This Nebulous Razor
It cuts to the bone
I have been stripped
Of my human form
So I embrace the Sun
And breathe new life
And though I know my time remaining on this earth is short, my flames will envelope the world.
The sacrifice of my own life to see this sacred view
Was worth the price of admission
Know that the mirror can be shattered from within
And now I fly towards the sun,
Bearing a grin.
And though I have been stripped of my human form
I have been shown the Sun.
